Changes to surgery procedures as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19)

 

In order to keep our patients and staff safe, we have implemented some changes to our routine systems, including those for appointments, prescriptions, and queries. These changes are focused on reducing unnecessary footfall into the surgery.

 

All appointments will be assessed by a clinician over the phone. If the clinician feels you need to be assessed face to face, arrangements will be made on an individual basis.

 

All prescriptions will be processed electronically. If you have a nominated pharmacy, your prescription will be sent to them via the Electronic Prescription Service. If you usually collect a prescription or token from us, please take a note of your NHS number and provide this to your chosen pharmacy. Once we have processed your request, they will be able to download your prescription at whichever pharmacy you choose to use. There are a very small number of medications for which we are unable to process prescriptions electronically – you will be advised if any of your medications fall into this category and alternative arrangements will be made for you.

 

For routine queries, please use the NHS website or contact us by phone.

 

If you need a fit note (sick certificate) due to self-isolation, please visit https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note and follow the instructions on the website.

 

If you have queries about shielding (for example, if you have received a letter from the government advising you to shield, or if you believe you should have received one), please refer to the FAQ's here.

 

 

 

Important information about the coronavirus (COVID-19)

 

The NHS across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will be better prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases if the public follows Public Health England advice.

 

The latest advice issued by the Chief Medical Officer is to stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  • A high temperature or
  • A new continuous cough

 

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or a hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home. Stay At Home advice can be found here.

 

Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

  • You feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • Your condition gets worse
  • Your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

 

Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Doctorlink is our new online service where you can access advice and appointments on line.

Registration is simple and you can register here:

The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem. The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.

If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required, you can simply click on the ‘request appointment’ link. Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the practice team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).

Evening and Weekend Appointments

As well as offering extended access every Thursday evening at the surgery, our patients can book evening and weekend appointments for a range of services, including routine GP appointments, with the GP Hub. Click the banner above to make an appointment.

Online Services

Access & Parking

There is good access for the disabled to all of our consultation rooms. A designated parking bay is adjacent to the surgery entrance and the surgery has a ramp and wide doors to allow for wheelchair access. 

Ample free car parking is available for our patients when attending the surgery.
