In Crisis

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need help, call NHS 111 and select option 2 or visit NHS 111 Online. Specially-trained mental health staff will speak to you and discuss your mental health care needs – instead of having to go to accident and emergency departments in local acute hospitals.

Wellbeing

  • For wellbeing support patients can contact the Lifeline Helpline 11am-11pm on 0808 808 2121.
  • Please continue to call PCMH staff for advice and support around the management of mental health in primary care. 
  • Patients can self-refer to the Psychological Wellbeing Service if they require therapy here
  • Samaritans - Samaritans operates a free service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for people who want to talk in confidence. Call them on 116 123 or visit the Samaritans website

Local Community Support

  • Help from a mental health charity: Whether you're concerned about yourself or a loved one, find out how you can get help from a mental health charity or organisation.  You can use the Hub of Hope to search for mental health charities in your local area, or find one that can help with a specific problem. Find local mental health charities using the Hub of Hope

How can I help myself?

Self-care techniques and general lifestyle changes can help manage the symptoms of many mental health problems. They may also help prevent some problems from developing or getting worse.

We encourage patients to focus on “What works for me”, demonstrating how different actions can help us with our mental wellbeing, with a variety of simple tips offered by the NHS endorsed Mind Plan quiz that shows ‘there are little things we can all do to look after our mental health’
