Test Results

How and when to obtain test results from the surgery

Getting your test results

You can now see your test results online! Please contact the surgery to receive your unique login details to your Online Services:

Since our telephones are very busy in the early morning, we ask you to telephone for test results (eg blood, urine, X-ray) after 11.00am each day.

To ensure confidentiality, we only release results to the patient, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing. If you wish for your results to be disclosed to the third party, please complete our proxy access form

Samples

Please ensure when bringing samples into the surgery that they are correctly labeled with your full name, date of birth, and the date the sample was taken.

Samples should be brought in the surgery no later than 4.45 pm; any samples dropped off after this time may be rejected and a repeat sample will need to be provided the following day.

Blood Clinic

If you are given a form by a doctor or hospital consultant please bring it with you when you attend the clinic. You MUST have a form when attending the clinic because there are numerous types of blood tests and the phlebotomist will not know what blood test you require without the form.

The Blood Test clinic in Thorpe Road Surgery is by appointment. Please book in at reception on arrival.

Did you know? You can now book your Blood Test in the City Care Centre or in The Surge. Simply contact the surgery to arrange a suitable appointment.

If the test was arranged by your hospital consultant

If your test has been carried out at a Clinic or Hospital please call the Clinic or Hospital for the result, as we cannot action tests which have been requested by other Clinicians outside the practice. If the consultant’s secretary or colleague inform you they will send the results to your GP, explain that you want the results from the specialist who arranged them who is in by far the best place to give appropriate advice.”
